Benjamin Drummond, Cold OrdSea (Ordinary Seaman), At 28. Nat. Mass. Shipped Dec 1864 Portsth (Portsmouth) N.H. Transferred from temporary Naval Hospital (at Insane Asylm) with gunshot wound of left leg and following statement on Hospital ticket. Received injury at the capture of the Morning Light Jany 1863 off the coast of Texas. Injury was received in the line of duty. Richard G. Dean Surgeon.

Drummond was admitted into this hospital June 27th, 1866 - at that time there was a small open sinus, opening at the entrance wound on the inner aspect of the leg, discharging a thin watery pus; probe passes upwards and backwards some three inches without encountering any roughened bone or foreign substance. Has been treated with injection of Soda chlorinate, Iodinadra externally – Potas. (potassium?) Iodid (iodine?) and Ferri Tr. (?) Mur. (muriatic acid?) Internally - No marked result from treatment.
