I hope your correspondent of the gallant Uncle Ben will give you the items of interest which occurred on that boat. All that I can say for my own part from the manner in which she went into action her captain is deserving of much praise, and Captain Bill Johnson's name will have to be recorded in the history of the war for ability as a seaman and gallantry as a soldier.

Our bill of fare for dinner to-day is as follows: Roast beef, mutton, turkey, chicken, and pork; Irish potatoes, rice, butter, and a dessert fit for a king, and as the bell is now ringing I must close so as to drink the health of the gallant horse marines.
